Why not join a group trying to buy the lovely Academy Pub and keep it as a local watering hole. The pub was sold a few years ago to Academy Holland Park Ltd has applied to build four flats in the treasured but, sadly, last standing local pub. The plan is bitterly contested by The Norland Conservation Society, backed by local councillors and residents. More than 40 objections to the plan have been made and requests for the building to stay as a pub which would serve the needs of the community as a whole. Now, Academy Holland Park Ltd has put in a new proposal to redevelop it as a huge house which has been rejected by planners. Hot off the press ... a revised planning application for the Academy pub has now been submitted and validated.  The pub element of the scheme remains identical and unchanged compared to previous scheme.  The applicants hope that it now satisfies the reasons the previous application was refused.
