Norland Crime Update

For those of you not registered on the OWL website  https://www.owl.co.uk please see below a message from the Norland Safer Neighbourhood team about a spike in burglaries and robberies within Norland lately. If you know anyone who is not on our data base or who does not receive emais please do pass this important message on to them:

There has been a spiked increase in burglary and robbery within the Norland ward footprint.

Burglaries have been happening during the afternoons and evenings, following similar pattern with current suspects being two or three black males, one carrying a rucksack, looking into or around property from the road. Means of entry via rear of property. Recently a carjack was used to attempt to prise open ground floor window bars. This is not specific to all incidents and is meant as information for you to review your own security.

  • Secure access to the rear of the property where practical.
  • Use window locks and secondary locks on doors (Mortice)
  • If you have UPVC doors with multi-locking mechanisms, remember to lift the handle , lock and remove the key to ensure all locks are engaged.

Street robberies have been carried out around the west of Holland Park Avenue, Clarendon Road and Portland Road. Reports of a vehicle (registration and make unknown) with several occupants parked up watching for victims.

Please be aware of your surroundings and that of others. Try not to be distracted by your mobile devices and keep valuables secured upon your person.

This message is intended to inform you of current issues around the ward. Keep a look out and CALL THE POLICE ON 999 and report anything suspicious.
