Norland crime reduced

There has been a marked reduction in reported crime incidents within the Norland Ward footprint during the last seven days.

As I have previously reported, there was uncharacteristic spike in both robbery and burglary in the past few weeks.  The response to this was quick and intelligence led.

Extra resources were deployed in crime hotspots and directed patrols at relevant times and areas by both uniformed and plain clothed police.  Arrests for affray and public order were made with stop and searches/ stop and accounts where ground existed.

Local NPT Officers were paramount in these actions, both in deployment and gathering intelligence from you, the residents and general public, whose awareness and willingness to report incidents contributed to building a picture of what was happening and where.

We will continue to commit resources to the area and communicate information to the residents when relevant.

We have been pleased with the public’s communication with us via the OWL and Twitter platforms as well as attendance at recent Street Briefings.  The next such briefing will be tomorrow at 2:30pm in Norland Square W11 focusing on motor vehicle crime. Please join us if you are able.
