ADVANCE NOTICE OF NIGHTWORK CARRIAGEWAY RESURFACING
HOLLAND PARK AVENUE – CAMPDEN HILL ROAD TO OPPOSITE LANSDOWNE ROAD (WEST BOUND ONLY) AND CLARENDON ROAD TO LANSDOWNE ROAD (EAST BOUND ONLY)
As part of the Royal Borough’s highway maintenance programme it is intended to resurface the carriageway at the above locations. This work will be carried out by FM Conway.
Owing to traffic conditions, the scale of the project, and public safety considerations work is due to be carried out at night between 20.00 hours and 05.00 hours. It is planned that most of the noisy operations will take place before midnight.
Works are planned to commence on the evening of the 1st October 2018 and should take three nights to complete, weather permitting.
The first two nights’ work will be the section of carriageway between Campden Hill Square and opposite Lansdowne Road. The third nights’ work will be the section between Clarendon Road and Lansdowne Road. Work will generally be carried out in two separate stages comprising removal of the road surface followed by the laying of new surfacing and road markings. The work will be carried out with the minimum of disruption to residents but there may be some noise during preparatory stages and removal of the old surface.
The road will be subject to a traffic order during the period of work, with temporary traffic lights and restrictions and diversions in operation.
Any vehicles left in a suspended area or illegally parked are liable to be removed by the Council’s parking enforcement contractor or the Police. Residents have been notified via letter and have also been asked to check parking restrictions on a daily basis, as changes to the programme are sometimes unavoidable.
