Described as 'a rip roaring ride through 80s local government politics with Shirley Porter' it is a non-stop, shocking, enlightening and at times hilarious (even when you think you really shouldn't be laughing) take on the life and times of Dame Shirley, daughter of Tesco founder Sir Jack Cohen and leader of Westminster Council who famously sold off three Hampstead cemeteries for 15p and was accused of gerrymandering in the homes for votes scandal.
Television scriptwriter and radio dramatist Gregory Evans wrote Shirleymander and it was first broadcast to great acclaim on BBC Radio 4. It's on now until the 16th June at new W10 theatre, The Playground, in Latimer Road. Monday to Saturday 7.30pm.
