Golden Acacias Brightly Blooming
Golden magic is everywhere. Tall trees with a profusion of powder puff petals radiating against spring blue skies. Its so uplifting. But what are these magnificent trees? Using an app we think we may have found out what they are.
Growing up to 15 metres, these trees are part of the acacia family. Also called wattles and for the purists, Acacia dealbata, these fast growing evergreens bloom from late winter into spring and attract hordes of busy bees and insects. They delight in the strong scent, buzzing through the thick foliage and plentiful flowers gorging themselves with spring’s first nectars.
Its a signal that the dark winter months, hibernation and times of little food are now behind. Bring on the buds of May as robins, squirrels and garden life begin once again to emerge.
Do send in your pictures of the camellias magnolias the daffodils and crocuses as a glimpse of hope for people coming through the challenges of the past year.
